First Presbyterian Church
34 Alder St, Waltham, 02454

Worship at the First Presbyterian Church of Waltham follows traditional Protestant/Catholic liturgy patterns. To this we have added contemplative music from the Taize community. Music is a valued and important part of our worship.

No matter what ways of worshiping strike a chord with each participant, every Sunday we seek to offer an authentic and inclusive experience that encourages the sincere worship of God that nourishes us and prepares us for the week ahead: experiencing God’s love, listening for Christ’s wisdom, and being encouraged by the spirit.

We observe Holy Communion the first Sunday of each month

Here is some further information that might be helpful to you in planning your visit to FPC:

Children are an integral part of the worship and fellowship life of FPC. For that reason, we seek to provide age-appropriate opportunities for learning about and experiencing God and participating in the life of our church. On Sundays, most families choose for children to attend worship with the adults through the first part of worship. We have a Sunday School class for children.

Older children are invited to attend worship and have a special activity if they choose to participate. We recognize that all children are different and have different levels of interest and comfort in various settings, children are always welcome to remain in worship for the duration.

The body of Christ represents many kinds of abilities and forms. We believe everyone should be able to participate in corporate worship. Our sanctuary, gallery and parlor are handicapped accessible via the ramp at the East end of our building. If you have specific needs that you would like to discuss before visiting us, please be in touch with us by phone or email.

Inclement Weather

Whenever the City of Waltham declares a snow emergency no parking is permitted on any city streets within Waltham. Therefore, for the safety of all our congregants and the convenience of our neighbors and city workers, we will cancel worship services for as long as the emergency is in effect. You can also find out if there is a snow emergency by visiting the website for the City of Waltham at
Take care and stay safe!
